How the adaptive modules work
Both sections start with a first module of mixed difficulty. Your result on it decides which second module you get: a harder one if you did well, an easier one otherwise. Higher scores are only reachable through the harder second module, which is why accuracy on the first module matters so much.
What Reading and Writing tests
Every question is built on a short passage, usually a single paragraph, with one question about it. The four domains are:
- Information and Ideas
- Craft and Structure
- Expression of Ideas
- Standard English Conventions
Practice each skill in our Reading and Writing section.
What Math tests
Most questions are multiple choice with four options; the rest ask you to type in your own answer. The four domains are:
- Algebra
- Advanced Math
- Problem-Solving and Data Analysis
- Geometry and Trigonometry
Practice each skill with unlimited generated questions in our Math section.
A note on official materials
This site is independent. Our questions are written for practice in the SAT's format; they are not official College Board questions. For full-length practice tests in the real testing app, use the College Board's own free materials alongside ours.
